The talented teenager has been the subject of interest from Barcelona.
18-year-old Juan Sebastián Sforza has extended his contract at Newell’s Old Boys until 2023 amidst interest from abroad.
The central midfielder, who captains the Argentina u-17 team, is one of the brightest talents currently playing at the Newell’s academy and is tipped to break into the first team soon.
Scouts from FC Barcelona have already watched Sforza and Newell’s Vice-President Cristian D’Amico previously said that the club had been approached by the European giants.
In a statement released by the club to announce the news, Sforza said:
“It’s my desire to play at El Coloso (Estadio Marcelo Bielsa) and become champions with the first team.”
