The Manager: Frank Kudelka
The Newell’s Old Boys manager is Frank Darío Kudelka, appointed on 26 February 2026 after the club parted ways with the Orsi–Gómez partnership. He took charge with Newell’s entangled in the relegation picture and made his debut days later in the Clásico Rosarino.
It is Kudelka’s second spell at El Coloso — he previously managed the club between 2019 and 2021. Born in Freyre, Córdoba on 12 May 1961, the 65-year-old is one of the Argentine game’s most well-travelled coaches, with more than 600 matches in the dugout across Talleres, Unión de Santa Fe, Universidad de Chile, Lanús and Huracán, whom he led to the 2025 Torneo Apertura final.
His reputation is built on organisation and defensive structure rather than flourish, and by the second half of 2026 the improvement was visible enough to win over a support that had endured several bleak seasons. For more on how he steadied the side, read The Kudelka Effect.
