Welcome to our round-up for the Gameweek ending 17 August 2020.

Lepers Abroad refers to the performances of ex-Newell’s players and coaches, along with well-known fans of Newell’s Old Boys, who now ply their trade outside of Argentina.

Mauro Icardi played for 79 minutes in PSG’s dramatic 2-1 win over Atalanta to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. Although Icardi was taken off while the score was still 0-1, he’ll be hoping to play a major part in the semi-final against RB Leipzig on Tuesday.

Lionel Messi looked dejected and frustrated as his Barcelona side were humiliated by Bayern Munich in a shocking 8-2 defeat. A Brazilian journalist claimed after the game that Messi has demanded to leave Barcelona in the wake of the result and Barcelona’s departure from the tournament.

Éver Banega impressed again as he helped Sevilla into another Europa League final, beating Manchester United 2-1 on 16 August. The midfield maestro’s last game for Sevilla will take place on Friday against either Inter or Shakhtar Donetsk.

Enzo Barrenechea came on as a substitute for Juventus u19s and played for half an hour in a 1-3 defeat to Real Madrid u19s in the UEFA Youth Club. The result of the match, which was originally scheduled for 4 March, sees Juventus eliminated from the competition.
