Carlos Rotondi sold to Defensa y Justicia

The 23-year-old previously impressed while on loan at Santiago Wanderers of Chile.

Carlos Rodolfo Rotondi has been sold to Defensa y Justicia by Newell’s Old Boys. The team from Florencia Varela have acquired 50% of his economic rights for $600,000.

Rotondi is an attacking winger who came through the Newell’s youth academy and had loan spells in Chile with San Luis de Quillota and Santiago Wanderers.

At Wanderers last season, he was one of the stars of the Chilean Primera División, scoring 7 goals and providing 6 assists in 28 games.

He was selected by SofaScore in their Latin American u23 Team of the Season.

Rotondi has only ever played a grand total of 51 minutes for Newell’s, making two second half substitute appearances for La Lepra in 2018.

Now under the command of Sebastián Beccacece, it’ll be interesting to see if he can make an impact at the top level in Argentina.
