ENGLAND
Marcelo Bielsa‘s Leeds United were beaten 0-1 at home by Aston Villa on 27 February. They remain in 11th place in the Premier League.
SPAIN
Lionel Messi scored twice in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Elche on 24 February. On 27 February, he was on the scoresheet again, adding to Barcelona’s single goal on 85 minutes to give them a 0-2 win away to Sevilla.
Lucas Boyé played for 71 minutes in Elche’s defeat to Messi’s Barcelona earlier in the week. On 28 February, which happened to be Boyé’s birthday, they lost again but he did get on the scoresheet in the 2-1 defeat away to Granada.
FRANCE
Mauricio Pochettino‘s PSG bounced back from a defeat to Monaco by beating Dijon 0-4 in Ligue 1.
Mauro Icardi missed the Dijon game due to injury.
NETHERLANDS
Lisandro Martínez started and played a full game as Ajax progressed to the next stage of the Europa League, beating Lille 2-1 on 25 February. He was also on from start as they drew 1-1 with rivals PSV in the Eredivisie on 28 February, playing the full game at centre-back.
GREECE
Daniel Mancini was a 64th minute sub in Aris’ 3-0 win over Atromitos on 28 February.
CYPRUS
Emanuel Dening started and played for 88 minutes, also receiving a yellow card, in Paralimni’s 1-2 win over Nea Salamis on 28 February.
Adrian Lucero started the match alongside Dening but was taken off at half-time.
MALTA
Federico Falcone started but was taken off after 67 minutes as Birkirkara defeated Floriana 2-0 on 27 February.
RUSSIA
Ezequiel Ponce played a full 90 minutes for Spartak Moscow as the Russian Premier League returned but they were beaten 0-2 by Rubin Kazan on 28 February.
SAUDI ARABIA
Ever Banega was involved in two victories for his side Al-Shabab last week. On 22 February, the set-piece specialist assisted two goals in their 3-0 win over Ah-Ahli, a game in which he played the full 90 minutes. On 1 March, he played for 86 minutes in a 1-2 away win at Damac.
MEXICO
Nahuel Guzmán started and played a full 90 minutes in goal for Tigres as they drew 2-2 away to Atlético San Luis on 26 February.
Andrés Lillini is under a lot of pressure at Pumas as they lost for the fifth time in 6 games, going down 2-1 to Chivas de Guadalajara on 28 February.
Santiago Solari’s Club América defeated Pachuca 2-0 on 28 February. They slipped to 2nd place in the Liga MX after their previous match was given as a win for Atlas despite América winning the game on the pitch. América admitted afterwards to fielding an unregistered player and were punished by having the match result overturned.
ECUADOR
Francisco Fydriszewski and Victor Figueroa both played a full 90 minutes in Aucas’ 2-3 home defeat to Emelec on 27 February.
PARAGUAY
Luis Leal scored again for Sol de América but it was only a consolation goal as they were beaten 1-3 by Guarani.
