Jerónimo Cacciabue loaned to Miedź Legnica

Newell’s midfielder goes to Poland on a 12-month loan

Jerónimo Cacciabue has left Newell’s and moved to Poland, the club confirmed on Thursday. Cacciabue, who came through the youth academy at Newell’s and debuted in 2018, will play with Miedź Legnica in Poland’s top division, the Ekstraklasa. Legnica are a newly-promoted side having won the second division last season.

The loan is free-of-charge but with a purchase option of $1.5million if the Polish side want to buy 70% of Cacciabue’s contract rights.

Cacciabue had struggled with injuries in recent years and found himself out-of-favour under current manager Javier Sanguinetti. The loan gives him a chance to taste European football and get his career back on track.

Best of luck in Poland, Jero!
