The 30-year-old defender agrees to a mutual termination of his contract after 3 years at La Lepra.
Newell’s Old Boys have announced that they have come to a mutual agreement with Fabricio Fontanini to terminate his contract.
The central defender joined Newell’s in January 2018 and has been a first-team regular since then, making 53 appearances and scoring 4 goals.
The club has saved a payment of $126,000 by deciding to release Fontanini early, having purchased 75% of his contract in 2019.
Newell’s have already signed Yonathan Cabral who can play in Fontanini’s position and an additional CB signing has not been ruled out. Reports say that Frank Kudelka is still keen to entice Cristian Lema back to Newell’s after he failed to settle in Saudi Arabia.
