The 29-year-old forward played for Unión last season, scoring 7 goals in 24 games.

Juan Manuel García has become the fourth signing of the window for Newell’s Old Boys.

The forward from Tandil arrives on a free transfer after playing for the likes of Arsenal, Banfield and Unión. A tall target-man with an eye for goal, García has scored 29 goals in 107 appearances since making his debut at Brown de Adrogué in 2013.

He has signed a one-year contract at Newell’s until 2022 and has already joined team training at the Jorge Griffa Training Centre in Rosario.

On signing his contract in the company of manager Javier Sanguinetti and Director of Football Julio Saldaña, García said: “I am very happy and with high expectations for what is to come, I think I am in one of the best moments of my career”.

Welcome, Juan Manuel!
