Newell’s Old Boys fell to a third home defeat of the season on a frustrating Monday night at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa.
On the whole, The Lepers dominated the game, enjoying the share of possession (65%) and shots on goal but poor defending from a first-half corner allowed Matías Cóccaro to head El Globo in front and Newell’s couldn’t find a way back.
Fernando Gamboa’s side now fall to 17th in the Liga AFA and face Diego Flores’ in-form Godoy Cruz side on Saturday in Mendoza.
