Newell’s Old Boys third shirt unveiled by Umbro

Umbro Argentina has launched a new alternative grey Newell’s Old Boys shirt.

The shirt, which features a red lining on the sleeves and collar, includes the classic ‘NOB’ shield with 7 silver stars to represent the number of times the club has won the Argentine championship. Similar to most shirts made by Umbro, their iconic embroidered logo is featured on the right.

On the lower right, the club slogan “No traten de entenderlo” (Don’t try to understand it) is printed alongside the year in which the club was founded (1903), while on the back the words “El más grande del interior” can be found. This refers to Newell’s status as the biggest club outside the capital Buenos Aires.

The shirt is available to purchase now in Argentina for the equivalent of around £48 but unfortunately there’s not much chance of buying it elsewhere as the club does not offer international shipping.

The new shirt as seen on (from l to r) Maxi Rodríguez, Ignacio Scocco, Mauro Formica and Pablo Pérez.
