Umbro Argentina and Newell’s Old Boys have launched a new alternative “4th” Newell’s Old Boys shirt.
The shirt is technically the fifth shirt that has been released by Newell’s in 2020 after the home shirt, away shirt, alternative grey third shirt and the most recent pink shirt for breast cancer awareness.
The new design features black stripes on a red canvas. The club phrase “Don’t try to understand it” is printed on the bottom of the shirt alongside the date of the club’s foundation (1903). On the back, just below the neck, is the phrase ““El más grande del interior”, referring to the club’s status as the biggest outside Buenos Aires.

Newell’s Old Boys will wear the shirt on Sunday 8 November in their first home game of the new Copa Liga Profesional de Fútbol season against Boca Juniors.
The shirt goes on sale in Argentina on Friday.
While it’s unavailable to buy in Europe currently, the newellscarajo.com Shop may stock the shirt at a future date, depending on availability.
