Welcome to our round-up for the Gameweek ending 31 August 2020.

Lepers Abroad refers to the performances of ex-Newell’s players and coaches, along with well-known fans of Newell’s Old Boys, who now ply their trade outside of Argentina.

Adrian Lucero and Emanuel Dening both now play for Enosis Neon Paralimniou in the Cypriot First Division. The ex-Newell’s players were on the receiving end of two losses in the past week against Ethnikos Achnas (2-0) and Olympiakos Nicosia (2-1).

Milton Valenzuela came on as a substitute in Columbus Crew’s 1-0 away defeat to New York City FC on 25 August while on 30 August, he played the full game in a 0-0 scoreless draw against FC Cincinnati.

Maxi Urruti came on as a substitute in Montreal Impact’s 2-0 win over Vancouver Whitecaps and in another all-Canada tie on 29 August, he played for 71 minutes in a 0-1 home defeat to Toronto FC.

Braian Rivero and Victor Figueroa faced off against each other in the 1-1 draw between Rivero’s Independiente del Valle and Figueroa’s Aucas on 25 August. Figueroa scored Aucas’ goal from the penalty spot and was Man of the Match.

Rivero also played in Independiente del Valle’s 3-0 win over Guayaquil City on 30 August while Figueroa was present for the full game as Aucas won against Macará.

Francisco Fydreszewski had a disappointing week in the LigaPro Serie A as his side LDU Portoviejo suffered defeats against Emelec (2-1) and Universidad Católica del Ecuador (4-0).
