Tata’s Mexico score friendly win in Dallas
Tata Martino’s Mexico were in friendly action at the weekend, beating Iceland 2-1 in front of a crowd at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It was Martino’s 22nd win out of 25 games since taking over as manager of El Tri.
Up next for El Tata is a CONCACAF Nations League game against Costa Rica on 4 June.
Banega assists Ighalo in win for Al-Shabab
Éver Banega set up Odion Ighalo for Al-Shabab’s second goal in a 3-0 win over Al-Wehda as they kept up the pace with table toppers Al-Hilal at the top of the Saudi Professional League.
Maxi Urruti with a goal and assist but can’t stop Houston losing to Sporting Kansas City
Maxi Urruti grabbed his 4th goal of the MLS season but it proved only to be a consolation as his side Houston Dynamo lost 3-2 away at Sporting Kansas City. Earlier, he has set up Matías Vera for the opener in the first half but Kansas then scored three goals in a row in the second half before Urruti scored his goal on 93 minutes.
Heinze’s Atlanta record 4th draw in 5 games
Gabriel Heinze’s start to life in the MLS has been left than spectacular and his side recorded a 4th draw in the last 5 games when they surrendered a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Nashville SC on 29 May.
Enzo Barrenecha undergoes successful surgery on cruciate ligament injury
Enzo Barrenechea suffered a cruciate ligament tear while playing for Juventus U19s last week. The young midfielder underwent surgery for the injury which he reported went well. Best wishes to you, Enzo!
