After a positive start to the season in which Newell’s were briefly top of the Liga AFA just a week ago, Racing inflicted a sobering defeat on Fernando Gamboa’s side on Sunday night at El Cilindro.
The home team, with a new interim manager on the sidelines after Juan Antonio Pizzi left the club just days ago, scored two soft goals in the second half and Newell’s were unable to recover.
