Newell’s Old Boys played out a goalless draw with Aldosivi on Thursday in Adrián Blas Taffarel’s first match as interim manager.
In a match low on quality, Newell’s went closest to scoring in the second-half but the away goalkeeper José Devecchi put in a strong performance to keep the game level. Substitute Panchito González impressed for Newell’s from the bench but failing to score against a team who had shipped 22 goals in their last 8 matches will be seen as a poor return for La Lepra.
