The club has confirmed that a deal was reached to terminate the 59-year-old’s contract
Newell’s Old Boys manager Frank Kudelka will leave his post after Saturday’s (13 March) away match against Defensa y Justicia according to an official statement released by the club.
Kudelka, who joined Newell’s in 2019, signed a new contract in June 2020 but a hugely disappointing start to 2021 has led to his early exit. Newell’s Old Boys are yet to win a game this year and have lost 3 out of 4 Copa de la Liga matches so far.
The 59-year-old initially improved the fortunes of the team, helping Newell’s to avoid relegation in his first season. After a strong domestic performance, the club qualified for the Copa Sudamericana.
That Copa Sudamericana campaign, which kicks-off in April, will now see Newell’s being led by a new coach, tipped to be former Atlético Madrid assistant manager and ex-Argentina goalkeeper, Germán Burgos.
Frank Kudelka’s win percentage at Newell’s Old Boys was 1.49%.
His final record was P39-W16-D10-L13.
