The 21-year-old forward has scored 5 times in the second tier of Argentine football.
Newell’s Old Boys have announced that they have signed Justo Giani, a young striker who came through the academy of Quilmes and made his professional debut for the club in 2017.
Since then, he has made 33 first team appearances, scoring 5 goals including 2 in the last couple of months as Quilmes tried to get promoted from the Primera Nacional.
It’s likely that he’ll provide back-up at Newell’s initially but his versatility means he can play on both side of a three-man attack including the centre.
Giani becomes Frank Kudelka’s seventh signing of the window after he sealed deals for Ramiro Macagno, Cristian Lema, Jonatan Cristaldo, Yonathan Cabral, Fernando Belluschi and Franco Escobar.
The club didn’t release any information on the terms of the transfer yet but reports say that La Lepra have bought 50% of Giani’s economic rights.
Welcome to Newell’s, Justo!
