After 3 months of postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some leagues around the world have recently resumed action.

Welcome to our round-up for the week ending 14 June 2020.

Lepers Abroad refers to the performances of ex-Newell’s players and coaches, along with well-known fans of Newell’s Old Boys, who now ply their trade outside of Argentina.

SPAIN

Lionel Messi scored his 20th goal of the season and provided 2 assists in Barcelona’s 0-4 thrashing of RCD Mallorca as the Spanish giants got their La Liga campaign back up and running.

Éver Banega came off the bench after 71 minutes in Sevilla’s 2-0 win over city rivals Real Betis.

GREECE

Joaquín Torres was left as an unused substitute on the bench for Volos’ 1-0 over Xanthi. He is expected to return to Newell’s after his loan spell ends shortly.

Martín Tonso and Daniel Mancini were both introduced in the second half by Aris Thessaloniki but they couldn’t prevent a 3-1 defeat to Olympiakos.
