A fifth win in a row left Newell’s Old Boys at the top of Group B of the “Complement” Phase of the Copa Diego Maradona after La Lepra overcame Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero at the Estadio Marcelo Bielsa.
After Sebastián Palacios opened the scoring for Newell’s in his final game for the club (he is due to return to Independiente on 1 January 2021), youthful substitutes Luciano Cingolani and Juan Sforza made their mark in a rojinegro shirt by helping Newell’s to a second and third goal.
