The 26-year-old left-back last played for Belgrano.
Newell’s Old Boys have announced the signing of Franco Negri, a left-back who has played for San Lorenzo, Independiente Rivadavia, Quilmes and most recently, Belgrano.
The club made the move to sign Negri after first-choice left-back Mariano Bíttolo was injured in the 0-1 loss against Boca. Bíttolo is expected to be out for 6 weeks with an ankle sprain.
Negri is a similar player to Bíttolo, attacking the wing and with a preference for delivering crosses into the box.
He has made 72 professional appearances in Argentine football, scoring 5 goals.
Having been released by Belgrano, Negri joins Newell’s for free and has signed a contract until 31 December 2021.
