The 30-year-old’s previous deal ended on 30 June.

Dynamic left-back Mariano Bíttolo has signed a contract to extend his stay at Newell’s Old Boys until 2023. The ex-Vélez and Colón man, who has spent time in Spain and Greece, has been one of the outstanding performers for Newell’s Old Boys since joining on loan in 2018.

After leaving his previous club Albacete, he owned the rights to his own contract but now La Lepra have acquired them for another three years.

Bíttolo’s strong performances down the left-wing, both in attack and in defence, have led to praise throughout Argentina and he was the Superliga’s highest provider of assists last season, creating 7 goals in total. A corner specialist, Newell’s will be delighted to have acquired his services ahead of the 2021 Copa Sudamericana campaign.
